Ron was a firm believer in line breeding as is his son Rikus today. Three rams, a son and two grandsons, of "Wekker" from Phillip Strauss was introduced to the stud in 2008. "Klock" was a direct son of "Wekker" out of one of Phillips show ewes, "Mpandi" a "Wekker" grandson from Hilton Spangenberg and "Wit Wortel" another grandson from Ben Grobbelaar. Line breeding was done with these three rams on already inbred functional efficient West Front ewes.

West Front also acquired FJ (see picture below) from Phillip Strauss before the above mentioned rams whom was also closely related to Wekker. FJ needs no introduction in the Dorper industry as he bred two National Grand Champion Rams.

"Oorlog" bred by Leroy Phillips was also introduced with great success breeding us some very useful ewes.

The introduction of the new genetics to compliment the West Front ewes paid off as our National Show results and the performance of our rams at the National Veldram Project bears the testimony there of. The two years West Front participated we had the best performer in the project and all rams entered passed the Growth test.
